Fritz Bauer Institute

 

The Fritz Bauer Institute – Study and Documentation Centre on the History and Effects of the Holocaust - is an interdisciplinary foundation of civil law domiciled in Frankfurt am Main. The Institute is devoted exclusively to the research and communication of the history and effects of Nazi mass persecution. Whereby keynote is on the elucidation of the Shoah.

As link between the scientific formulation of theory and cultural practice relevant today, it enjoys the support from the side of the city and from science. Charter founders are the State of Hessen, the City Frankfurt am Main and the Fritz Bauer Institute. The Institute has been associated with the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University since 2000 and is domiciled in the IG Farben Building on Campus Westend.
