Filmhaus Frankfurt regards itself as the umbrella organization of the Frankfurt film scene: for interlinking filming activities, promoting young talent, encouraging political and cultural debate on films and filming and ultimately representing the interests of film professionals in the Rhine-Main region.
The Filmhaus regularly holds a "jour fixe" designed to promote communication and occupational contacts among film professionals. Numerous further training events on technical film occupations are offered to promote young talent. The Filmhaus also has (limited) equipment that can be loaned out at cost. This programme is complemented by production-flanking measures such as costing advice, assistance in applying for support funds and workforce mediation.
The Filmhaus addresses an interested public with events on the themes film analysis and film theory, film breakfasts and discussions on selected films. Dates, cultural-political discussions on the theme film and other interesting facts are also outlined in GRIP, the journal of Filmhaus Frankfurt.
