"It was the nightingale and not the lark…" was a project that spanned generations and sectors and which typifies the explorative work of this dance/theatre ensemble.
Pure dancing numbers are not the ambition of Co.Lab. TanzTheater, instead its programme is the encounter with other art forms (music, drama, visual arts). Choreographies are not oriented to a specific dancing technique, but are the outcome of an analysis of divergent styles and the development of an intrinsic vocabulary of movement. This is theme-related and is oriented to everyday movements, which are choreographically interpreted and abstracted.
The Co.Lab. TanzTheater was founded in 1993 by the dancer and choreographer Petra Lehr. It is an independent group whose performers are newly assembled according to the requirements of the relevant production.
