The programme of the "Media Workshop" (MEWI) is aimed above all at children and young people, who are to be given the opportunity of critically appraising the medium television, whose offer they consume daily. The project "Schoolchildren create television" allows children to cast off the role of passive consumer and take on that of the "maker". Within the scope of "professional" journalistic research they thereby not only learn the use of technical equipment, but also about the manipulative possibilities of the medium.
MEWI also has its own studios for VHS and TV productions, offers video introduction and extended courses, regularly organizes workshops on the theme "new media".
