Maple Movies – Canadian Film Festival

Every year in September Maple Movies presents a vibrant and fascinating cross section of the Canadian film landscape, which has its own, multifaceted flavour in an arena dominated by European auteur cinema on one side and Hollywood on the other. From the background of its country’s multiplicity of languages and identities this still relatively young cinema has established its own unique and exciting voice in international cinema.

The Canadian Film Festival, in 2009 for the fourth time, besides Frankfurt is touring Hamburg (Metropolis), Berlin (Filmkunst 66), and Munich (Werkstattkino).

A festival catalogue is available at the participating cinemas.

Hosted by the Kinemathek Hamburg e.V. in cooperation with the Canadian Embassy in Berlin, and Telefilm Canada. In cooperation with the Deutsches Filminstitut – DIF / Deutsches Filmmuseum, Frankfurt, the Deutsch-Kanadische Gesellschaft DKG, and Film Circuit - Division of Toronto International Film Fest Group and with the kind support of the Wirtschaftsförderung Frankfurt, the SODEC and the Representation of the Government of Québec in Berlin.
