  • The Redesign of the Deutsches Filmmuseum

    The Deutsches Filmmuseum in Frankfurt am Main has undergone complete structural redevelopment until spring 2011 and received a new permanent exhibition. 25 years after it first opened, the film institution’s interior redesigned; the public display areas grew by 30 % to a total of 1.900 square metres. The third floor, today used as offices, being the most attractive floor with views of the unique skyline, are now the space for temporary exhibitions.

  • Extension of the Städel Museum

    With their design for a sweeping museum hall to present post 1945 art under the Städel garden, where the ceiling openings extend across the garden area in a striking pattern and supply the hall with natural light, Schneider+Schumacher’s design forms a prominent landmark that fits assertively into the municipal context.

    With the planned extension building for the international collections of the Museum of World Cultures, the City of Frankfurt intends to establish a further cultural “heavyweight” on Museumsufer. Due to the current budgetary situation, the project had to be postponed.
