The “Museumsufer Line 46” starts from Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof (main station) every 20 minutes on weekdays and every half-hour at weekends. On its route to the final stop Mühlberg, the bus passes Museum Giersch, Liebieghaus, Städel Museum (stop: “Städel”), the Museum for Communication, the German Architecture Museum, the Deutsche Filmmuseum, the Museum of World Cultures (“Untermainbrücke”), the Museum of Applied Art (“Eiserne Steg”), the Icon Museum and Portikus (“Frankensteiner Platz”). On Saturdays until 18h the “Museumsufer Line 46” is rerouted due to the Flea Market and passes along the Main parallel to Museumsufer. The stops here are also all close to the museums.
The “Museumsufer Line 46” is part of the umbrella brand campaign “Museumsufer Frankfurt” that was commenced in October 2007 on initiative of the Culture Department Frankfurt am Main. Today, around 30 Frankfurt museums, both municipal as well as private, jointly present themselves under the logo “Museumsufer Frankfurt”.
